Verizon (not Verizon Wireless) will advertise its DSL services on two daily ESPN podcasts featuring content from ESPN Radio and ESPN.com, according to an article in Mediaweek.
The article says, "The six-week podcast sponsorship is a first for both
ESPN and Verizon and features a 15-second audio promotion for Verizon
Online DSL at the beginning and end of the 5-10 minute podcasts."
I think podcast listeners will accept advertisements if the commercials are brief and relevant. Some individual podcasters already have advertisers, with podcasters either reading commercials or playing a professionally-created commercial.
